The Orgin of Loser

The origin of the LOSER dates back to early 2021. David A. Saunders was moved by the counterculture movement that was occurring at the time. We were all freaked out by Covid and what it would mean to our selective freedoms. How we were all desirous of moving away from regulations and personal creative freedom limitations only to be caught up in the craziness of an epidemic. David saw this as an opportunity to bring positive messaging away from words that have been associated with negative connotations. Loser represents a more positive way to reconstruct the components of what defines us. The goal is to change negative terminology through acronyms into something that holds more power than the original meaning. The initial response to seeing the words catches the attention of the viewer.

In Reality the word loser in this instance has so much more in store for the consumer. The L stands for how common it is for us to have losses, but how it is important for those losses to eventually accumulate into victories with lessons attached. Walk away from a loss stronger. The O represents the spiritual omnipotence of my lord and savior, but it can be applied to whatever spiritual significance you personally address.The backward S, dollar sign signifies how we must not chase what the younger generation refers to as clout or monetary reward. That doesn’t mean you're not deserving of success. It simply means that doing something solely for the love of money is a route to often times marginal happiness. The E speaks to us elevating our mental state in the pursuit of having a greater understanding of self. R which represents Resolve, that which speaks to your personal belief in self which seeks to address what your own personal expectations of self are.

Initially there were limited runs of LOSER which primarily were only offered in T-shirts and Hoodies. The demand outstripped the supplies available. Most of the early purchasers were indie artists in a variety of genres of music and sports. Boarders, fringe artists etc. Skateboarders were particularly interested in the product. Wearing the brand are some of the most self aware people not trapped to the stigma the word might suggest. Instead these buyers of the products invite the conversation that accompanies wearing the brand. These trend setters have reimagined the tag and wearing the brand further celebrates their awareness of its significance. LOSER speaks to the collective win we all have when each of us is great.
